Take Me On A Tour: Chocolate Apothecary

Way back in April we went for a visit to the Chocolate Apothecary in the Shops at Highland Village...what a neat place~~

Reese eagerly eyes the truffles in the glass case...

We learned about the history of chocolate,

and how chocolate is made.

Reese is holding a vintage bunny chocolate mold...

Then we tried drinking chocolate, which is warm
but not the same thing as hot chocolate.
It was slightly more bitter, and had a stronger taste...
Reese liked it a lot!

And the chocolates....
oh the chocolates!
So many choices from all over the world...
even some very unique combinations
like chocolate bars with chiles or mushrooms!
I couldn't help but buy the Chocolate Bacon Bar for Austen...
we all tried it and it got mixed reviews...
Jeff said it was too salty,
Austen & Reese liked it,
and I thought the chewy chunks of bacon in the smooth chocolate was gross!

The Chocolate Apothecary will cure any chocolate fix you may have...

And it was a great place to find neat gift ideas!
