Lots of fun at CoOp today. I hosted the group this morning, & our lesson was based around the story Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. The text is great, with lots of predictable parts that Reese (and the other kiddos) love to say along with the reader. We also had fun dancing to some songs, & then playing afterwards. I had planned two other group activities, but the day was so beautiful that everyone just wanted to run and play!
Using homemade funnels to fill their "Chicka Chicka Boomers" with pasta, beans, spangles, & wooden "coconut" beads. As I re-read the story, everyone SHOOK their chicka chicka boomers when they story said "boom, boom!".
Then we danced with scarves to a song version of the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom story. I'm so glad I bought this set of scarves...it's one of Reese's favorite thing to do with Mommy. We turn up the CD & just dance!
After our lesson, everyone had fun playing together outside. The weather was perfect!
