Reese loves this 1980s arcade game called "Mercs". Loves to play it all the time...
Tonight, when Reese was in the tub & playing with foam letters that stick to the side of the tub, he was telling me letter sounds & words that go with the sounds. All of the words were ones that have been in books like Dr. Seuss A B C. Big G, little g, What begins with G? Goat, Girl, GooGoo Goggles, G, G, G. Reese's favorite page.
Anyway--we got to the letter X. Mommy said "X like fox" and Reese says...."X like Mercs!".
Wow! Another ah-ha moment. I got goosebumps on my arms. All on his own, he heard the /x/ sound a tht end of the word Mercs. It never even occurred to me because of the way it's spelled. What a cool moment to share. That's a big mental leap Reese!!!
